Hello thanks for checking back. During the summer holidays my crafting becomes an evening event. That way I can concentrate on my children and a crazy puppy during the day. So what have I been up to and what's the photo about? I will confess I like the brand Hallmark they do produce great cards obviously second to a handmade card!. When I saw this set of forever friends collection on offer for just £11 delivered I couldn't resist. This came from create and craft, you know I love docrafs and every so often they have some bargains so it's worth a look. This came with an ultimate a4 pack some cards and envelopes, stamps plus some gems but what swayed me was the amount of gold in this set I think it will be versatile enough to be used at Christmas if needed. My makes so far. As you can see I've been busy with this set. It's full of "thinking of you and forever friends" sentiments but I like it its easy to work with and I'm looking forward to seeing how I can use this for Christmas. I've been making a few other cards as well. The little mouse is actually a silhouette file sadly it's been a while since I've used my silhouette and I'm not sure why? I guess I have to set it up every time I want to use it which is a bit of a pain. I do think my mouse would have been better on a plain background but we learn new things all the time. So I will stop at this point as I am actually running out of basic supplies like glue and foam dots so I really need to replace the basics.
Ignore this part if you should wish. Christmas in July is all over the craft channels and the big brands are also releasing new Christmas products. I'm going to be starting a few Christmas things on my Christmas section take a look at the top of the page it's coming soon very gently and just as a planner rather then full on so if your not ready for the C word just ignore this section. Thanks for checking take care everyone xxx.

I like a bargain don't you?. A few weeks ago whilst in lidl I came across some craft supplies. Every so often lidl will sell some crafts supplies. I have purchased these before so I know what I am getting. The paper packs are good I can use them in my cutting machine but not for anything to intrecut. The colour range is good and it's a large pack and for just £2.99 a bargain. We used some to make Elle-mays shark hat so they are strong enough. Craft packs Every season they seam to bring out these little craft packs full of coloured cards, pattern card, a few gems and embellishments, paper , felt and a glitter sheet As you can see they come with a sheet suggesting some projects which I have chosen to ignore. Don't worry if you can't find this one but look out for the next one which should be autumnal, last year's was lovely. So far I've just made two cards using the supplies. I can also recommend the 12 by 12 card packs from the works as well.
Hopefully next week I should have some new docrafs products to review. Take care everyone. Xxx Hello welcome back I hope you had a lovely weekend. Above is a picture of my makes for my Dad, a paper cup with some treats in, a little box with a book in and a pop up card. I love Fathers day its a great time to spend with family and we have had a very busy weekend so Sunday evening was happily spent making some cards using my country living collection from docrafts. A very simple square card. Lots of layers for this one. A fab chicken card, some Decoupage from the set and a die cut frame. A really simple card using the toppers supplied. I have made loads with this set and I still have loads left so these sets are fantastic value. A little shopping Do you shop in the works? Well if you don't I can really recommend them. I had an email with a 15% code off so I ordered a pack of vintage papers in 12 by 12 for just £3 these are a amazing value they are actually thick enough to use as a card base as well as perfect for boxes. I also got a 12 by 12 folk floral paper pack by docrafs. I've been looking at this range for a while and decided to give the large pack a try. I'm really impressed with this. Double sided pages not thick enough to be a card base but still a good weight. It comes with pattern pieces as well as patterns that could be turned into a card. I love the colours and floral patterns in this range, I've only had a little bit of time to play with this set and whilst you can easily get a lot out of this range I would love to get some more items from the range. The next card took a little longer. Whilst I like this card I just added some die cut flowers. I think this range is great for use with floral dies and would make lovely boxes.
In fact I think I should whip up some boxes soon. If you haven't checked out the works I really recommend that you do. Take care and check back soon. XXX Welcome back did you get your copy? If you didn't I recommend you do!, the papers are amazing quality I can tell I am going to get so much use out of them. Before we get stuck into the fathers day projects let me just Highlight a few of the things in this edition to sway you if you're not sure about this one!. This edition features some child friendly projects, floral projects it's usual mix of Card ideas as well as home makes. It's not really telling us about any future products we can expect, although they have just bought out lots of new ranges so that could be why. Fathers Day card So do you remember me saying I was going to use last month's free gift to make a Fathers day card? Well now I have the free papers from this month's let's get started. I wanted to just use the free gifts for this card all I have added is some bakers twine, a white blank card and a hole punch oh plus some foam sticky pads. What ever size your card base is cut a slightly smaller layer to go on your card. I used the wall papers and I stuck this in place with some foam pads. As the Dad stamp is large I covered it in black ink then laid the paper on top of the card in order to get a good image. I used the grey papers and cut out the dad sign. Then using the wood plank card making a sign you want the word dad to fit inside the sign. If you have other stamps you could add more such as your the best or what ever you have. I just wanted mine to use the free gifts. I used the foam pads to stick the dad words on to the sign. Hole punch two holes in the top of the card and thread your twine. I only had blue twine so I ran it over my ink pad. . Using your whole punch make a hole in the top of your card and tie your sign. You can use some sticky tape to secure inside.
So that's my freebie card I do hope you like it. Thanks for taking the time to read my blog. Xxxx Hello welcome back well I didn't expect to be buying this magazine but the die on the front cover won me over. At first glance it looks like a very large heavily detailed heart die but it's much more than that. You get three dies but what they do is very clever. Sorry it's tricky to see but you get tiny little hearts as well. Now the magazine shows you 15 makes using your die!, you know me I like to get value for money. I just made this quick card which I think would be great for wedding. This die is lovely I am certain to get lots of use out of it. So the magazine is full of product information even a few ranges I haven't heard of which is great. It has a lot of great card ideas and some good techniques.
It looks at a few different cutting machines even some of the new tiny low budget machines as well as electronic machines. This would be a great magazine for anyone who is still new to card making as well as the more experienced crafter. But honistly it was the die that made me buy this edition. Would I buy it again? Only if the free gift was of interest!. As always thank you for reading take care. Xxx Hello thanks for checking back. What do you think of my little bakers box? Cute isn't it!. This week I wanted to use my silhouette it's been a little while since I've used it. I am still working on little teacher thank you gifts and when I saw this little box in the silhouette store I just wanted it. Now if your not familiar with the silhouette cameo it's an electronic cutting machine. Think printer but instead of printing you cut. That's a brief description but you need a computer to work it. You get access to the silhouette store. Lots of clever designers have files you can buy, down load and then make. This particular one is by Lori Whitlock. (I will come back to her in a minute). Once purchased and downloaded it looks like this. Load the cutting mat and card and once cut it looks like this. Fold the score lines and stick together. This looks to be the perfect size for a cup cake.
I'm a massive fan of Lori whitlock who makes both sizzix dies and silhouette files. Plus she has a paper range as well. Her web site is bright and cheery and full of tutorials andideas well worth a look. http://www.loriwhitlock.com/blog/ Well I hope you liked my little box I used some cream card and green glitter card from Create and craft and the ribbon is from do crafts country living collection. Take care and check back soon. Xxx Hello welcome back. I am super excited to share with you how to make a fabulous box card. This is very simple and if you are a visual person pop over to YouTube to find a demo but for those of you who just need measurements let's get started. Start with a piece of strong card measuring 14 cm by 28cm. On the long e side score at 21 cm, 16 cm 11 cm, 6 cm then at 1cm. Turn and score at 6 cm. From the picture above you can see you need to trim of the smallest section at the top and cut down each of your sections to form a box. Do not bend the last end down as this will be left up. Cut two pieces of card 2cm by 7 cm and score each side at 1cm these will be stuck inside to allow you to stick the items you would like inside. Now you can add patterned paper to your box on the outside or on the flaps of your box if you like. These are two examples of cards I have made. The fun really is what you add to it.
Warning these are very additive!. Have fun creating. Xxxx Hello its monday again and my planned blog for the weekend didn't get finished so today you have this blog instead one which i originally started back in April!. I had been busy making boxes not just because I love making boxes but because I wanted to give my sister a practical present. As a new mum remembering birthdays and having to mess around wrapping presents can be made easier I thought to myself as I was making some boxes. So I decided to make a range of sizes and colours so she could simply pop her gift into a little box and know she had a collection of cards ready to go at a moment's notice. Now to make my boxes I used a pillow box die. These are available by so many companies and range from about £10 up. I did use my silhouette for couple of the boxes but to be honest I headed to one of my favourite blogs Pootles Papercraft. Now I really recommend you check out Sam's web page to see her videos. What's great about this last is its full of box and card demonstrations using lovely Stampin Up products. Just click the link below. With a simple score board boxes become easy and a pleasure to make as well. I did also make a card as well. Wow was this hard. I knew I'd seen a stand up card somewhere but I didn't really know what I was doing. Basically it's an xcut layer set cut in smaller sizes to get the three layers. I will admit that I'm not 100% happy with this so at some point I will go back and retry a card like this.
Thank you for reading haveva lovely day xxxxx Hello everyone back with some Papercraft today as May is a month filled with birthdays. This week I needed to make a card for a 16 hear old boy. I picked a computer controller from the silhouette store as my theme. I choose a blue glitter for the controller. I wanted to try a folded card. To make this card you need some card 25cm by 17 1/2 cm. Simply score at 6 1/2 on. On both the longest side and fold. For the card I choose a Papermania patern paper which I added inside as well as the front pannels. You see the inside when the card is stood up which is why I stuck the controller inside using a button and some twine. For the front I used a stampin up stamp for the happy birthday sentiment and some silver number Stickers to add a 16. I embossed a matching blue piece of glitter card with a sizzix folder and then backed that onto a slightly bigger piece of card. I really like this style of card. So much so that I made another one in the same style using some Countrylife papers. I am on a no spend month of Craft supplies but docrafts have some amazing new products out which is making me very tempted.
Including some water coloured pens at an amazing price and a whole set of diy paper products. Check out the Docrafts web site for more information. Thanks for reading. Xxxx Hello and it's May, well I am welcoming May with open arms!. Perhaps slightly cold ones but still. Now this is another one of those birthday months and I find myself with three cards needing to be made. Now as I own a silhouette Cameo and finally having card which will work in it I really need to get on and use it!. The 1st brief a dinosaur card! Ok so it's a bit basic just some layers dinosaurs and a tag but it's blue glitter so I am forgiven it's simplicity. Next a young teenager so perfect for a bit more glitter and shimmer. Again with this card a little matting and layering, more glitter card and Stampin up's tree builder punch have helped me add a birthday element to this card. This time I cut three different colour tags and used foam to stick each tag slightly at an angle. |
