I need to make some Christmas cards and I am so behind that I need to make some speedy cards that still look great so my DOCRAFTS papermania Christmas with wellington set is so helpful. In about 2 hours I had made these cards without to much trouble. These cards used the kit nicely I still have so much left it's amazing how much you can get out of these kits. Top tips for Christmas cards. Layer! Yep layer your pictures, twice if you can it just makes your cards look so much more professional. Bows If you can buy a pack of bows they just add a lovely finishing touch to a card and it is Christmas. Gems If your card looks dull just add a few gems to a corner or around a sentiment. Colours You cant beat gold and silver bows, gems, glitter or buttons all these things just generally mix well with most colours at Christmas. Tags I am working on some gift tags which can often work really well as card toppers and can be made up very quickly. I haven't had a chance to buy much in the way of Christmas card making supplies yet this year but to be honest I know I have lots of items I can use. These lovely tags are made using stamping up cup dies and a stampin up punch to get the hot chocolate look. I have just used some red and white paper and twine on these but I love the way they look. The washi tape is from lidl and the little cake is a stamp set from paperchase. I love this jumper ribbon I just wrapped it around some red card added a Christmas sentiment sticker from papermania and a bow from hobby craft to some tags from the pound shop. I love these tags. The last tags are simply made using some cut card, stampin up punch to make the cake and some stickers I had stashed away.
Tags can be simple or complicated but I love making them. Next week I plan to make some loaded envelops. I do hope you will join me. Take care xxxx

Hello welcome back. Today I wanted to just make a really simple flower that you don't need a lot of equipment for. This is actually just a circle flower. Yes that's right a flower made with circles. Let me share with you. I choose some basic pink paper and a large circle punch this one is from stampin up. If you have a circle die that will be equally useful or failing that you could hand cut your flowers. I cut out 12 petals so I made sure I had plenty. Using some ink and a doubler I ran a little ink across the top of each petal. Once the petals are placed down they will loose definition if you don't do this step. Simply curl the petals around your finger to add to the shape. Then begin sticking the bases together gradually building up you shape. ![]() I added a split pin and two green circles folded in half. I like it it's very pretty and incredibly easy.
I am actually really enjoying these paper flowers so lots more to come. I do hope you have a go and as always thank you for reading. Take care xxx Hello welcome back I am so chuffed to be able to be doing some paper craft. It has been a really long week for me and I need some time to create. New stamps It has been a while since I purchased new stamps but these little beasties caught my eye in a charity shop can you believe it? In fact the charity shop had wool, old craft magazines and all sorts of stamps. I paid £3 for these I was more than happy as I have been after a mushroom stamp for ages but look at the diamond and the lips and the hello. I couldn't wait to get these home to see how they stamp. Sadly these are nameless and they are basic little stamps but perfect for the job. So whilst I cant recommend these to you I can say its worth checking out your local charity shop for a crafty bargain. I had a little play with a few just to see how they stamp. Look at the mushroom I cant wait to play with that. Now I have to make a teenager card that's really hard most of the ones I see in the shops are not good. I wanted something modern in modern colours so I went straight for this Christmas pack because I knew it could have some gold in it. This paper pack was from the pound shop can you believe it. Its amazing quality. Take a 6 by 6 card base and cut your paper to leave a boarder. I decided to attach this with foam sticky strips as its a plain card raising it slightly will give it more impact. I have used the forever friends letters which just introduces a little blue into the card. I wanted to add lots of bling to the card so I added these papermania adhesive gems. Lets hope she likes it. This weeks paper flower challenge. It's funny how when you make something you suddenly start to see lots of other things.
I seam to see lots of paper flowers on Instagram at the moment. This weeks was actually a topper on a box but I really liked it. The flower is by Jamie Crispps its pretty isn't it. I actually cant wait to make next weeks flower. Take care everyone. I have a confession to make I love stationary, pens, paper, pencil cases, stickers the lot. Now business stationary actually excites me. I love adding a little sticker to a bag or a box. What's business stationary? Well for me it's thank you stickers, business cards and leaflets. But did you know you can make these using the silhouette cameo or curio?. Well today I used my curio but it's equally as easy on the cameo or portrait. Let's start with business cards. Open up your silhouette studio and click the registration marks to suit your machine and make a box size 2 by 3.5 that's the standard business card size but it may be that you don't want to use a standard size it may be that you want to make a different shape that is up to you. Now fill with the information you need. #your logo #bussiness name #contact details #shop #social media info #brief discription. Now I will be honest it's easy and quicker to order some from a big company like vista print but I only wanted a few as I may need to change some of the information on them so this is a great option for me. I'm not an expert but you need to make sure you are only cutting out the card and not the text. If your unsure of this you can simply remove the text before you cut. Once you have decided you are happy with your card you need to work out how many you can fit on your mat remembering not to go out side the registration marks. Once your ready load up your card and send to your printer. Once printed you need to load up your silhouette to cut the cards out. Hopefully your machine will pick up the registration marks and cut your cards out perfectly. Stickers I love stickers so I decided to make logo ones and thank you ones. It's the same process as above your still printing and cutting but this time your printing on sticker paper. I will try and get a film of me doing this with some fun stickers only I'm having sound issues at the moment. Now don't fear if you don't have a silhouette machine you can get all sorts of stationary printed for you or you can print using word and simply use a paper trimmer to trim to size for your business cards.
If you like stickers then you will need to see my post coming very soon. I have a new machine coming this week and all I will say is I am very brand loyal!. I hope you have found this useful as always happy crafting xxx Sometimes it is good to use some supplies with out lots of other complicated embellishments and that's ideal if the card you are making has to be posted. Today I am going to make a card using just the docrafts papermania mr mister 12 by 12 pack. This 12 by 12 paper pack is great. It has a fab selection of papers with different designs in it. So using the two above papers I simply cut the tools page slightly smaller than the card base then used foam adhesives to give that layered look.. I then cut a smaller square piece of metal looking paper included in the pack and again used foam tape to raise the image. If you look closely at the word paper you can cut out the words the worlds greatest. You could use die cut letters to add another word after if you wanted to say brother or friend. I have left it blank. lastly carefully cut out one of the tools and stick this on two. Actually a very simple but effective card just using papers. Now I told myself that I wasn't going to buy anymore craft magazines when I came across this one! Paper craft essentials. I was sold by the free gift a stamp set and an embossing folder. My youngest loves monkeys so I just had to get it. I am not into colouring in, I would like to be but I haven't found a medium I really like to use. I am on the look out for some watercolour type felt tips to help me master colouring in. I did try! As you can see I stamped some onto yellow card and cut them out to see how they looked. Then I had an idea. My nephew will need a card soon so this made perfect sense to make him a colour in card. I have simply stamped him the image onto the card and a sentiment I will include some colours in the envelop so he can colour it in himself. I love this idea. So we better talk about the magazine. If you haven't bought one of these they talk about lots of new products from a wide range of companies. They take a paper pack and they make 4 cards with it and tell you how. They do lots of these and even tell you how long it should take. I like that they pick a theme and match up products colour wise from lots of different places. If you are stuck for ideas then this is full of them. Flower of the week. Paper flowers are massive at the moment so I have decided to make a different one each week starting with a 3d spider mum flower by Bits of paper. this flower is available in the silhouette store. You have to cut out lots of these flowers and stupidly I didn't look at the instructions as the two smallest pieces are yellow so I inked mine yellow. You need a good blade to cut these as they are small. Then you need to curl all the pieces and stick together largest pieces first. This took ages and whilst its really pretty I wont be in a hurry to make another one of these. Follow the link for the full instructions. So now if your going to follow me with this then keep it safe as we have a use for them once we have finished so make sure you check back next week for the next flower.
![]() Welcome back just a quick blog today playing with new craft supplies. Some times we are in a rush and we just need a tag ready so its always a good idea to have a few made up for such an emergency. I picked up some bargain do crafts goodies in the works last week and I have used the owl collection before but never the tags. You see as they are tags it makes perfect sense to use them as tags. I am starting with the heart shape. I used the spinkle of life stamp set from stamping up to stamp the sentiment on in grape jelly dew drop memento ink. I added some twine and a neon orange bow with a green gem in the corner very simple but effective. This tag is pretty without anything on but with these lovely stick on fabric words it just looks so much better. This tags a bit more old fashioned but I do like the bright orange with the purple. It isn't something I would usually put together. I think that's why I love these sets because everything co-ordinates together so well. I used the stamping up sprinkles of life stamp set and a little flower that comes with it to create a stamped boarder. Then I used the Mr mister stamp set to add a sentiment. Lastly I added some purple and white twine. Now for a bright orange tag well again its lovely on its own but I added thanks a bunch sentiment stamped over and over. I like this style almost like word art but only one word and the odd flower plus a little wool. Lastly this tag is massive but I would see it wrapping round a big box so added holes in the sides and two happy birthday sentiments on the side. That's the great thing about paper craft it can be very speedy and very simple but with stunning results.
im hopefully going to squeeze some paper craft in this week but I'm having some storage issues which is stopping me. I think i need to work them out. I hope you will join me again next week to see if i can solve them. Have a lovely weekend xxxx Hello it has been way too long since I have done a paper craft blog and I have really missed it. So its time to have a play. This week after a particualarly trying day I decided to make a sign with the words MUM WORKING DO NOT DISTURB sign . If you picked up this months do crafts Magazine you would have got in your free gifts a great pack of wood paper. Its a nice thickness and I was hopeful it would take some paint. I loved this painted look wood paper so it just seamed perfect to add the text in paint. I made a stencil using my silhouette machine with some card but if you have individual die letters you could use them or you could buy stencil letters. I used Americana Acrylic paints in white. Pop a little bit of paint in a jar and then using a sponge gently pat a small amount of paint onto the sponge then gently pat it over the stencil. BE CAREFUL if you use to much paint it may seep under the stencil. Carefully pull back the stencil to reveal your words. Leave to dry. I think this would be great as a fathers day card don't you?. Embellishments Sometimes you can have lovely embelishments like these lovely butterflies which I picked up in Lidl a few months ago completely unsure what I was going to do with them but actually they are rather lovely but on their own they just don't look enough. Lets look at some ways to completely embellish these in a really sumptuous way. Butterflies and flowers go together like toast and butter so lets take the easy route and make up some flowers. I have made these using a selection from the silhouette store. Sometimes when I get the chance I just make up some flowers using my cameo but sometimes you just cant beat some die cut flowers like these bellow oh and we better add a few leaves. Don't forget to add a few gems for a bit of glamor. Finally secure with hot glue unless you are using a very intricate die cuts shapes. I love this card and it was such fun to make. But its going to need a box as it won't fit in an envelope. Perhaps that would make a good blog for next week.
I hope you found this useful. Happy Crafting xxx Some times you just have to love technology don't you?. Well today I do because I have a new paper pack to play with. Thanks to technology docrafts have managed to bring us this stunning wood effect paper pack. If you haven't seen wood effect is massive this year!. Unusually for me I really didn't know to much about it before I purchased it but I struggle with men's card and I was hoping that this would help. So I made you a quick video of what you get. Sadly one sheet was printed the wrong way around. But it's still a great set and a little surprising. I couldn't wait to make a card with this. As far as paper packs go I think this one is great to work with other sets you already have rather than completely on its own. That's not to say it cant be used on its own it certainly can but its a great edition to your craft supplies. I used the Wilson wood collection to help me make this card. I used a sheet of the wood vellum which is lovely and then stuck this lovely embellishment over the top. I added a bow from the wood collection and the love circle. You probably already know I am a massive docrafts fan. Incase you didn't know they have a great web site full of ideas. You can follow me on the inspiration use the link bellow. I hope you found this post helpful I promise to bring you some more masculine cards with this set soon but for now have a crafty week. xxx
![]() Hello it's boxes today. What you can see above is believe it or not a box die!. Well half a box. I was trailing through eBay when I came across some really cheap dies. Box dies from just £2.50. ok so they are from China and you have to wait up to a month but I had to try one. Well it arrived and it's incredibly solid with good embossing lines. You simply cut two pieces of card or paper with it and fold all the creases and stick together. I can't fault this die it does exactly what it is supposed to do and it cuts equally well into card and paper. I made two boxes. One with gold card and I cut some small pieces of Willson wood paper and then stuck them on and the other I actually cut some thick green card then cut the box again in Willson wood paper and stuck it exactly over the card using tacky glue so I could line it up. I could just use paper but I wanted my box to be sturdy. If your box has windows and you didn't want the. Just cover them over using a sentiment. A word of warning whilst these dies on eBay seam a bargain lots of them cost a few pounds but actually you usually buy a set for the price of a few of these cheaper dies so unless you only want one it's probably not that much of a bargain.
So despite having my lovely new Willson wood Collection that I have only just opened I saw a fab offer on something new plus a voucher ment I couldn't resist a new purchase so hopefully it will have arrived in time for next weeks paper craft blog. As always thanks for reading xxx I did it! I finally got my hands on the Willson wood a4 Ultimate die cut paper pack. I have been wanting this since I first laid my eyes on it and it doesn't disappoint. But it's hard to show you so I've filmed it for you. I like a bit of a challenge so I'm planning on using this pack up as quickly and as imaginatively as I can. I wanted to show how varied this set is I've made a wedding card. This was actually very simple using the letters you get with the set. Ideal for a nature loving couple. I also made a sympathy card. Nature is a very gentle way to say we are sorry for your loss. I used an xcut die leaf for this. Lastly I made a birthday card. Simple layering and these lovely little creatures and some gold buttons are just lovely on this card.
Next week I plan to make some boxes and tags with this set. Plus I have a new box die to review for you. Before I go don't forget this month's do crafts magazine it's brilliant, filled with lots of projects and has some little Easter dies with it. As always thank you for reading xxx |
