Hello welcome back. I felt I had to include kits in the basics. The craft market is full of companies all with their own ranges and styles. Today I want to go through some of the types of kits available to you. The great thing about kits is the colour co-ordination is done for you. Trust me this can be tricky. Now a kit could provide any number of things, from card blanks, stamps, papers toppers and decoupage. Take a little time to look around at what's available and go for something you really like and has real use as it may last you a long time!. I would suggest starting with a birthday type kit or even Christmas. Lets look at Kanban Crafts Over Christmas I was lucky enough to be given a Christmas Kanban set. I have seen them on shopping channels so I was super excited. Depending on what kit you get you generally get very good quality thick card which can be foiled as well as patterned, plus stripes of Sentiments and lots of toppers as well as some printed ideas. The pictures bellow are just a small example of what I had on mine. The great thing about these kits is you can simply pop the toppers out and stick them onto the card with a sentiment. Or take it up a notch by using some embellishment's, perhaps a ready made bow or a little button. Bellow are some of the examples of cards I have made with this kit. Now these are great and if you want to produce mass cards to resale then these kits are perfect. (Be sure to check their Angel Policy which you should be able to find on the wrapper when you buy your kit)They also do good mens kits and animal ones to.
However its not my favourate way of making a card. But each to their own. A little over your budget or simply not wanting to spend so much? Let me recommend do Crafts. I will add a link shortly for you but do Crafts make matching sets. So you can buy cards, patterened paper toppers embellishment's, ribbon, buttons all colour or themed to help you. You may need to use a little more imagination but they have a good web site with links to allow you to search for cards made using the products. The picture bellow are from the blog post I did about the do crafts kit, it came with matching French Lavender items and a card I made using these products. Its more budget friendly in that you could simply buy a topper sheet for about a £1 and you may get two cards out of it. Or add in some notelets in a co-ordinating colour. Next week we will be looking at Decoupage and I will be doing a step by step guide for you. Don't forget to click on the link bellow to take a look around the Do crafts web site. Thanks for reading.xxxx
