I know it's not spring but I am doing a little tidying and I love the idea of keeping things in storage jars. Especially things that spill!. The trouble is you do not always know what's in your jars, think coco chocolate looks the same as drinking chocolate. The same with flours. So using these Papermania Chalk Board Stickers I decided to label them. Now you can buy Chalk Board pens, ink pads or you could use some vinyl letters. I tried to use a Chalk pen but sadly it was a little chunky and my hand writing is not the neatest. I think you will agree. So I decided to use my silhouette machine. Using the software I simply type the words I would like and shrunk them to the size needed. Load up the vinyl and the machine will cut out the words. Now I find small letters hard to cut out as well as removal off the unwanted vinyl. Luckily the machine cut well today. Using transfer tape I have pulled each letter out carefully and stuck them in place. You can buy vinyl letters in craft shops. Much better now to buy some more jars to fill up! The next thing I want to make is a spring sign using vinyl or perhaps even a printed sign.
Plus I have 6 cards to make for up coming birthdays. Have a lovely week everyone.

Thank you for checking back I am so pleased you came. It's bitterly cold today yet I am trying to bring spring into the house with some daffodils, my children found the little chick and hand made sheep. (Probably wishing for Easter as we have a serious lack of chocolate in our house). But for me things are changing, I've really enjoyed my short time with Stamping Up ( if you didn't know I joined Stamping Up in October). It's been fun and I have some amazing craft supplies but I find my journey with them has come to an end. I was hopeful I would have the commitment to go far with Stamping Up as indeed you can but for lots of reasons I have decided otherwise. My little blog has been calling and I really want to give it more attention. So you will find some changes coming a new paper craft section, some new more unusual crafts as well as magazine and product reviews. I hope you will continue to follow me on my crafty journey and find your own therapy within crafting. Thank you again xxxx Hello jumping ahead to wedding season. You know I love hair accessories and they can be so simple to make, like this Barrett clip. This can be just as easily made with beads as buttons, infact I do have a bead on this one!. You will need A selection of different sized buttons or beads A Barrett clip Lace or ribbon 1/2 a metre Coordinating thread A needle Hot glue gun optional. Start by wrapping the ribbon or lace around the Barrett clip, go through the squidgy bar you do not want to cover the bar. You can choose to glue in place or stitch in place. I stiched mine in place. Next start attaching you buttons, I liked a random look of sizes, you do need to stich these on I just carefully glued them in place after to stop them moving. Lastly trim any loose thread, so in other coloured its not for a wedding, try a rainbow of buttons.
I will be making some more wedding hair accessories at some point. So I will leave you now, have a healthy happy week xxxx Oh dear how many times have I have tried to write a blog!, for some reason it's just not flowing.
I am still crafting, infact I have some interesting projects to coming up but first this year I need to be more healthier. I know we all say that don't we in January, yet a few weeks in we go back to our old habits. But poor diet and lack of exercise has taken it's toll, and I've been feeling the effects big time. That's the reason for this change. So I have started Yoga and I love it. Well actually it serves to remind me of how stiff I am but after I feel energised. As well as Yoga I'm making sure I get my 5 a day and I have introduced flax oil to my diet. I'll be honest its nuttynessis not the most pleasant thing but the health benefits are huge. I have been suffering with eye issues so I'm hopeful this will help. I'm also trying some ssuper foods, I will update you with time, Plus we took the plunge and got ajuicer (more about that next week) so with my healthy head on i will leave you with some pictures of my crafty week take care xxx Hello I do hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Apart from my sons birthday cake I haven't really been doing much crafting. But I did get myself a very dull but practical Diary. I knew with a few hours work it could be updated with a crochet cover. If you treat yourself to Inside Crochet Magazine you will find a patern. I've yet to add flowers to mine but its looking a lot brighter I really hope this year to be able to bring a lot more crochet into my life.
Join me in toasting the new year to your health, happiness and crafting. Xxxxxxxx |
