Half term came around so quickly I just wasn't really ready for it. So far we have been really busy a few days out, a Halloween movie and lets throw in a birthday and before you know it the week will be over. I had hoped to get the house ready for Halloween this week. The kids would be making all sorts of goodies, but they aren't as interested as I had hoped, so we may be heading into the commercial world on Halloween. They did how ever join me up the table to do some more clay. ![]() Spooky Biscuits Always popular in our house, so yummy 250 grams of plain flour 200g butter 100g icing sugar 2 egg yolks pinch of salt Pre heat the oven to 170C, mix flour, salt icing sugar and butter in a bowl until it looks crumbly. Now add the egg yolk and mix to form a dough. I like to line my surface with baking paper and a small dusting of flour. Take your dough into a ball and place on to the baking paper ready to roll out and cut your shapes out. If its to sticky simply add more flour. Bake in the even for 15 minutes. We decorated ours with smarties and icing. These will be eaten before our Halloween party as they are just to yummy to keep. Well lots more to do will post again soon, Hope your enjoying the week xxxx

Hello, yep as you can see at the moment toffee cake and tea is needed and I am super glad I made my pumpkin tea cosy. Yes I need comforts, as the temperature drops the kettle is used more and what can beat the warmth and the smell of a cake baking in the oven. At the moment despite have a massive to do list, being at home is just so comforting. Cozy evenings watching films, crochet hock in my hand and a warm blanket on my legs. This is actually Elle-mays blanket and its finished. But she wants to use it so its not going away until Christmas as planned. You might just be able to see I am making a snowflake. I decided to make a crochet snowflake wreath. I haven't really planned it yet but I am thinking a few white snowflakes, some deep green holly leaves, a few blue snowflakes and some red berries. I need to get myself to the wool shop to buy my wool so I can get working on it. I will keep you updated as it grows. I love being at home and I am trying to get us more organized and tidy!. Just occasionally I find a solution to the a problem and today I am going to share it with you. With 5 of us in the house, once it gets a little chilly we reach for the gloves, hats and scarfs. We all have more than 1 pair and it becomes a night mare storing them and finding them. So I invested £14 in this plastic draw system. Ok so visually its not the prettiest but it works!, its near the door, everyone comes in pops it straight into their draw, (yes hubby and son share one), we know how to find what we need, no more morning rush to find that odd glove! Hey perhaps it would do with some Vinyl? I could make that a project to make it look better?. The point is its solved a problem. ![]() So next week is all about Halloween.
My children will be making 3d spiders and all sorts of goodies. We even have some Black icing to use!, check back soon xxxx ![]() Hello, how are you all doing? As the title suggests I am celebrating a new Start. I have spent the last month looking for a job to fit in with the children and dog. The reality is that finding that perfect job isn't as easy as I had hoped. In the back of my mind I have been thinking about joining Stampin Up! as an independent Stampin Up! Demonstrator for last year. I love the idea of teaching and inspiring and the chance to get paid doing this sounds like something I think I could do. Don't panic I am not leaving you, I am hoping this means I can continue my blog as I will still be home mostly in the day. So if your wondering what Stampin Up is take a peek at my facebook page.facebook.com/LucyWhiteatStampinUp?ref=bookmarks I actually hope to keep the two very separate but I do have a blog on my Stamping Up web site so you can check that out to if you like. So what I have been up to. Thankfully my hands have been good and its just as well because I am so behind with my crochet its annoying. Elle-mays blanket is nearly done!, hopefully over the weekend it will be finished. I love the colours. ![]() I have a massive ball of white wool ready to be made into snow flakes more to come about that soon. I did attempt a quick Christmas tree as well, once I have finished the trunk I will pop a pattern up for it. A quick kitchen update. I love coffee, and the whole coffee shop thing, I am trying to create a little bit of that in my home. This file was one from the silhouette store. I did buy the "know your coffee" sign from ebay. I still want to add some more bits to the area. I will share with you when its finished. Check the Parties page as I add some more makes. Have a lovely week xxxx
tWell what a busy week and I have been making some exciting changes which I will share with you soon. But 1st what have I been up to? An afternoon of selecting a few files from the silhouette store and cutting them out to produce these two lovely vinyl's ready to be wrapped up as a present. I also decided it was time to start some Halloween projects. The 1st being this frame. Purchased from the pound shop and painted orange, well sadly after applying some tape, so I wouldn't paint over the lines I realized that the tape took the black colour with it as it came off, so using some vinyl I recovered the board before sticking the vinyl words on. Now you could have a go at making your own just using chalk, just find a phrase you like. Sadly you can see the crease in the corner which I will be covering with a big stick on hairy spider.
Have a lovely weekend everyone. xxxxx |
