Hello I hope you have enjoyed Easter? As always I never seam to get round to making as much as I would like!. But I've been doing a spot of shopping! Yes you always need more craft supplies! Really you do! Just lately I have been looking at the sizzix web site. Did you know they have a UK one and an American one! Which I actually think is a bit odd. Until you look at the items they have for sale then you realise how much more they have in America. That's annoying we have to live in hope some of the goodies will come to us. But what it has done has reignited my desire to work with some other media's. Every few days they update there blogs with new makes using products from the sizzix range which is one reason I have decided to head back to sizzix and I am buying a big shot from friend who is upgrading to a big shot plus. Plus I have also purchased another sizzix product but I am going to make you wait for that I am afraid as it's worthy of a video!. Sharpies! So this blog was meant to be a quick update and to say I am technically just taking a little family time out so my blogs will be less for two weeks, but I've ordered some new products to share with you so be sure to look out for my next blogs. Before I leave let me just share with you my love of sharpies. I picked up a massive set for £8 in WHSmiths but you can find similar deals in supermarkets from time to time. Now when I purchased these it was with the intention of decorating canvas bags, china the usual projects you would expect to use them for. Like most parents when my youngest asked if she could use my pink sharpie to colour with I didn't really want to let her. I mean £8 as a felt tip was a little steep for my budget not to mention the whole leaving the tops off! I'm not sure why I gave in but after explaining the importance of putting the lids on mummy's special sharpies I alloud my then 5 year old to use them. Wow take a look at the picture bellow, sharpies give the most intense colour I have ever seen from a felt tip ( OK they do go through the page but hey). Now I am not sure why but all of my children put the lids on they seam to know and they take care of them. My youngest uses them nearly every day and they are over 7 months old! And still going strong.
How many packs of ordinary felt tips would we have gone through in that time?. Well that's me done this blog. I hope what ever your up to this week you are having fun and taking on some crafty projects. Thanks for reading xxxx

Sometimes I don't get round to sharing all the projects I make. Most days I make something and I constantly have several projects on the go at anyone time. So without explanation some projects I haven't shared yet. Spending a little time making something, especially if it's a present for someone brings me great pleasure.
Have a lovely week what ever you are creating. Xxxxx Time for a coffee and a look back over some old magazines for inspiration. Can you see the frame? It was £1 from the pound shop yep a bargain bit of plastic but I added a couple of resin flowers and tiny resin dots for inspiration using my trusty glue gun. I am gonna get some more of these frames and try some new make overs. Springs springing up in my home. I will share a few pictures with you. Including my wreath. I like to add some seasonal changes when I can. I would still like to add some Easter bunting and a crochet daisy garland. Plus some of my children's craft work .
Hope it's a lovely week ahead to you xxxx Has spring sprung?, well officially we are now in spring and yet we have seen snow fall even in Somerset!. With Easter just a few weeks away I really need to get cracking with my makes! I have known I've wanted to make a spring sign for a while now. I saw this one in the silhouette store. The truth is I really should be using my machine a lot mode than I have been so you may well see some more projects to come. Sadly my supply of vinyl is dwindling with just a small amount on each roll and at about £7 a 5 metre roll I probobaly won't be replacing these any time soon. So with a few odd bits I've pulled together enough Easter colours to make up the letters needed. I used some blue card to cover my Christmas words it's not secured so I can simply remove it when needed. I have lots more Easter makes i would like to make but let's see what time allows.
Don't have a silhouette try printing an Easter picture instead xxxx Happy Mother's Day unless your not a mum. This day always reminds me that not everyone has their mum around any more so for those it will bring a sense of sorrow but I am sure a time to reflect and to think about happy times you shared. I always think no present or card will really even come close to expressing how much my mum means to me and now as a mum myself I realise exactly what it means to be a mum. With that in mind I did try to make a card that kind of expresses what I would like to say. This side of the card is floral and very pink. IYou can see this side is all about tea!. Actually I spent the afternoon at my sister's, pink doilies, posh tea set and scones yummy. I will make a card with you soon in my paper craft section to show you how to make the same style card. Mother's Day to me takes us a step closer to spring and with easter just a few weeks away I have a number of projects I would like to make. I purchased some new sizzix dies and last night I took some time out to cut some pink felt flowers out, although I am not sure exactly what I am doing with them yet. They are so pretty. When I buy a new die I look to the Internet to inspire me. One of the designers of one of the dies is Brenda Walton. Wow her work is stunning, overly floral and incredibly girlie. Lots of her dies seam unavailable via the sizzix web site but they can be found on eBay. A shoe, a tea cup to name a few!, take a look at her web page you won't be disappointed. I hope at some time to get my hands on more. I do hope you check out the link and thank you for taking the time to read this.
Let's hope I find some inspiration for those flowers. However ever you spend today I hope you find joy and happiness in this Mothering Sunday. xxxx |
