Hello Welcome back I do hope your well. Its getting ever closer to Halloween and although we aren't hosting the Halloween party this year I couldn't help but make a few decorations. Now if you know me you know that I'm not a fan of 3d crochet, by that I mean I'm a little scared of making things that resemble toys!. But I gave myself a challenge and I made this spider. I hadn't actually planned on making a wreath for Halloween but I had a spare wire wreath and this crazy wool so I wrapped away and tried to give it a web like look. I'm sorry I cant find the orginal pattern for this spider. Well I've also made a little garland. I am a subscriber to a few crochet utubers and I saw this pattern last week and couldn't resist a quick try. I didn't add the eyes but I'm happy with it, what do you think? This is the link if you want to have a go. The truth is I'm a little lost now Crochet wise.
I've finished my winter wreath which i will share with you soon. I suppose I should be starting my Christmas wreath now. Perhaps I should head over to Pinterest for some inspiration. I hope you enjoyed my little post today take care and be sure to check back soon. Xxxx

Just as the weather is changing so am I!. I'm so greatful to you all for taking time out of your busy lives to read my blog. These last few months I have come to realise that my little blog is what keeps me focused and motivated. I'm constantly thinking about what projects I can show you how to make or what might just inspire you to take a leap into trying a new craft!. So with my thinking cap on I have spent some time exploring some craft suppliers and I have ordered some goodies. Ok so some of these are out of my comfort zone (yes that is a ceramic bauble) but let's push me to see what I can come up with. Hopefully you will join me as I've ordered some really fun items and I still have more to come!. So now more than ever I need to use my planner to ensure I get everything done. Sunday night I sat down and spent about an hour on my planner. I really like my pages and ive been encouraged to look back to see what I should be doing. For this one I've only really used some punches and die cuts. I think it's the colours that help it to work. I'd really like to do more on planners and try some different brands perhaps even invest in some stickers? Let me know if you want to see more on planners. This week lots of my makes have actually been presents so I can't share them with you just yet sadly. I have been working on some Halloween Crochet like these little ghosts which I will share more information on them next week as they are an unfinished project! Plus I had an idea which didn't really go to plan. I was hoping to make a little Crochet bootie but this ones much bigger than planned and the shape went wrong. But look at my tiny little kitten how cute is that. Well next week is half term thank goodness.
Both me and the children are ready for a break. Next week the focus needs to be Halloween so I hope you are able to check back to see what I'm up to. Have a fabulous weekend everyone xxx Well as you can see I have been working hard on my wreath and I love the colours I've chosen so far. To be honest I had planned on using a much smaller wreath base which would have been much quicker but never mind. I always join my ends when I have desired length. Then using each colour i join it up. I know it's quicker to use one colour and cut all my ends but I think it looks better. I'm really pleased with it so far. See what I mean about the back. Now let's be honest I'm a massive Attic 24 fan and her winter wreath is my favourite of all her projects. Do take a look at her page. It's taken me a while to work out what to do with this wreath. Just like the bleak of winter I didn't want to overload this wreath. My vision of winter is frosty cold mornings with sparkly cob webs covered in icicles. So I added my version of a spiders web in white a random pattern from my head!. Then in the craft shop I found these red wired berries. I crochet around some brown pipe cleaners and added the berries. This lovely little snowman yes I made the snowman I'm pretty pleased with him. Lastly I added the sequins these are called snow white they have a pink glow to them. So it's finally finished and I love it.
Although I've also nearly finished my Christmas crochet wreath and all of a sudden my winter wreath looks a little to much like a Christmas wreath. Perhaps I may need to make another? Anyway I hope you like it. I hope this has inspired you to make a winter wreath. I know that some of you love the idea of making a wreath but don't know how to Crochet or have a desire to learn so keep an eye out as I will be sharing with you soon a Christmas wreath tutorial using a mixed media's but no Crochet!. Thank you for reading have a lovely week. Xxxx Well isn't he just the cutest. Infact I think he is the cutest card I have made. Some times we instantly know what we want for someones card just as we do with presents. Last week was a week to use my cutting machine. This lovely pug comes from a cutting file by Jennifer Rush. I've been making up a few framed pictures as well as presents. This design is ready to go on somebody's door or perhaps a wall?. I'm sure we all know someone who would appreciate this. I've been cutting some Christmas files as well but actually surprised myself that I could use both the letters stuck in place and then the original paper. I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to use these for yet but I'm sure I will find a use. I love this cut, just as I love a bit of glitter. What else have I been up to? Well my crochet wreath is taking shape. If your ready to start one this one is single crochet chain of 30 on a 4 hook. Then turn and single chain back. How many rows will depend on the size of your wreath base. I have been really taking my time with this just a few rows added each day and I'm still not sure what's going on it yet. Next week l will tell you how to connect it and hopefully I will have nearly finished it.
I have lots planned for this week so I hope you will check back to see what I'm up to. Take care xxxx Welcome October and welcome back can you just about see the fire. The 1st of October was suddenly very cold we also celebrated my youngest birthday which means I've been really busy. Now at last I can really crack on with my Christmas preparations. Thankfully the lap blanket is finished. So I should really be starting my Winter wreath?, But I'm a little torn do I make a fun red and white wreath covered in 3d characters or do I make a winter wreath in white blue and silver with snowflakes and winter florals?. Do I have time to make both? I'm not sure. I did try a gingerbread man following a pattern but although the pattern was easyish to read I want to try my own pattern. This is my burnt gingerbread man! Usually I shy away from 3d type Crochet but I had to try one. I need a lighter shade of brown then I'll try to write a pattern I'm happier with and I will share it with you. Now I've been lucky to be given some wool and I have raided my wool stash and come up with these possible colours if I go with a snowy type wreath. This could do with some silver I think. My problem is apart from snow flakes I'm not sure what else I would put on this wreath. I think I'm gonna do some more research on this wreath.
So for now and until I get my polystyrene wreath base I'm going to spend some time thinking about this one. Take care everyone and thanks for reading xxx |
