Hello welcome it is Christmas eve as I write this blog and today was my job to make mince pies and settle down to read this book.
Presents have been wrapped and delivered, cards have been handed out and both me and my children are all a little tired as it's been a busy week. My youngest two headed to longleat to see the light festival as well as decorating gingerbread biscuits with their cousin's both treats from loving aunties. You see Christmas if you aren't a Christian is in my opinion a family time. Memories are more precious than any wrapped present will ever be. Now with Daddy home and the excitement of family coming around on the big day we realise that expensive decorations and presents will all be forgotten as will expensive food but what we will remember is the fun memories we will be making. So I guess my message to you this Christmas is make memories with those around you and if you can reach out to those you love and give them your time after all its the most precious thing in the world. Enjoy your memory building, stay safe and well. I truly wish you good health and a very merry Christmas Xxxxx

Hello everyone what a busy week!. I do hope you are all well as I have just developed a cold and to be honest I am not surprised. Now I am a little disapointed with myself as I really haven't managed to bring you everything I would have liked to but incase you missed my video earlier in the week this is it for you now. My quick and easy wreath guide. Now it's getting so close to Christmas and I have left a few presents till last minute which is typical for me. This year I wanted to make my niece's and nephews these lovely little personalised decorations. I did use my silhouette for these but in the picture below I used some Anita's peel offs and filled them with some die cut card stars and glitter or mini pom poms. We have a family party so they can have these early to hang on the tree but I made little boxes for them to go in. Most of these boxes I've made from my head but a few are silhouette files.
Now I need to wrap pass the parcel ready to the party. Have a lovely week everyone. Xxxxx Hello thank you for joining me. Today I share with you my Christmas Crochet wreath well actually it's not all crochet. You see last year I brought these lovely knitted characters from a craft fair and I knew they would be perfect on a crochet wreath base. I'm only sorry I can't link you to the original creator as I've never seen her again. If by some chance she ever recognises them I hope she likes what I've done with them. I am a red white and green Christmas kinda girl and these shades are perfect. I used a half double stitch to make this wreath base and some little white pom pom balls. You see I think it's great to use decorations you already have especially if they are handmade. Now you might know I have a slight fear of 3d type Crochet items but I'm hoping to conquer my fear next year. I've always wanted a knitted nativity but the cost has always put me off. When I found a pattern for a crochet nativity I wondered if I'd be up to the challenge. Then i told my Dad and he suggested I make one out of wood well that's very traditional but I do have a bit of a fear about eyes. You see wooden carved eyes need to be symmetrical and that's not easy but we will see. I may well end up with two next year. Well I will leave you with a picture of this year's first home made mince pies yummy.
Take care everyone xxxx Hello its December can you believe it!. We have been getting in the Christmas spirit with some baking kits. This kits from asda and you do need an adult to help with these. These look cute and taste yummy so it's a good kit to buy. This week I sat down and sorted out my paper scraps and used up last year's stampin up scraps for my planner. Let's hope the planning keeps me on track. This weekend we will be putting our decorations up. More than anything I'm looking forward to the soft lights the tree provides. This week my son was customising some army figures as you do and I decided to paint my bauble that I'd picked up from hobbycraft. Now I don't know a thing about painting but I knew I wanted a snowman scene. I'm actually pleased with the results and I'd love to have a go at some folk painting next year. It was very therapeutic. I'll share a picture of it hanging on the tree next week. As you can see I also made a Santa cam bauble which is a silhouette file. These are all over the place at the moment bet a few children could do with these.
So my next post will be a very colourful one. If your putting your tree up this weekend have fun. Thank you for reading xxxx |
