Autumn days well ok so it's only the 1st September but for me the nights are getting darker earlier, early mornings are cooler and the leaves are turning to the most fantastic shades. I do love the colours of Autumn and the back to school new shoes. I love to bring it into our house, even if it's just a touch. I have a few makes from last year to bring out too but with the warmth still in the sun I am going to hold off a little longer. As always I have a few projects planned. So that brings me nicely to my Autumn Wreath. I have been working like mad to get this wreath done. This time I have actually made a plan. Well sort of!. I raided my wool supplies that's one of the great things about making Wreaths it doesn't necessarily need a lot of wool. I wanted to keep half of the base exposed so you would see the colours in a stripy pattern. This is covering a polystyrene base. I will admit to getting all of my little Crochet shapes and leafs from the internet. Thank goodness for free patterns. Like the little pumpkin how cute. I think I will add some Halloween items to it at some point so I have attached everything with pins and safety pins so I have that option. You can see my attempts at acorns. I am pleased with my wreath and itching to get started on the next wreath, perhaps I have an obsession with wreaths?.
I still have more Autumn projects I'm hoping to do some including using these adorable pegs from docrafts. So thank you so much checking out my post. I do hope you are inspired to try something new. Xxxx

Hello welcome back and welcome back to the sun shine too. It's funny it only took a couple of cold wet days to switch my brain into Autumn mode. New uniforms, yes those itchy school jumpers they do still have them has got me wanting to get my blankets out and Crochet hocks at the ready to start my Autumn wreath. The trouble is I am simply not ready I've to many unfinished projects to crack on with. I am signing under the weight of what needs to be done. It's funny isn't it how you can start a project and completely lose focus on it!. Anyway the wreath I was working on. This as you can see it's very nearly finished. I made a few mistakes with this one. Mainly the green base should have been made in single crochet not double as now you can see the base a little. I much preferred a tighter look. Then the lump! Yes I don't normally do that my joining is usually good I've no idea what possessed me to join it like that and then knowing I had this problem why did I then not put the flowers more centrally?. Still all is not lost!, I now need to make a chunky band to allow it's owner to hang it on. This weeks planner has me down as finishing it today but honistly I'm not sure I've got the energy now!. As you can see I've been using my Gorjuss girl set which has been a great way of using it up as most of the images are just a little too dark for card making. I've left my planner a little blank this week.
I did this on purpose so I can complete some projects with my children plus I have a new project coming up that's going to need a lot of work on. Finally it's time to give my bedroom a make over. More about that soon. Take care and enjoy the sun shine xxxx. Welcome back I do hope you are well. I'm not entirely sure what happened to my last blog it just disappeared which is kind of annoying but still so let's crack on with this blog and hope it works. As you can see from the picture above I made this rose quartz dangly. Infact I have 2 in my home and a few in the garden. It's very simple, using some silver thick but bendy wire which you can buy online, although if using outside you will need florist wire which would be best so you don't get rust on your lovely beads. I used an old rose quartz necklace but for some of the ones I made outside I used blue beads. If your beads are to small to thread through florist wire then use an old memory wire bracelet. I start by bending the wire to give you our hanging hoop. But you could simply attach a keyring. Then load up your beads and bend to secure the beads at the bottom. If your using a memory wire bracelet you need to attach a large bead at the bottom, something with a bit of weight. Florist wire bends lovel, you might need some pliers to help you bend, have a play around see what you can create. It's been a busy week and I am some what behind. As usual my floral wreath is making slow progress. I just need to attach some more leaves which are ready and then make some more Roses. Why did I think this would be a quick project?. Sadly I can't bring myself to start my Autumn wreath until this one is finished so I need to get on with it. I did get distracted on one cold morning when I couldn't help but make some Crochet slippers. I found this guide on YouTube but these are a little big, you can find loads of easy slippers to make but I actually think I'd rather have a go at some socks, when I get my wreaths done!.
Well I can't believe the amount of projects I have on the go and how much I haven't shared with you. Which brings me to my last little mention. I finally found a planner. Will it make me super organised? We will see. So as always thank you for reading and make sure you check back as I enter the world of planners!. Take care xxxx |
