The adds are on the telly the Christmas Movie channel is on sky and yes they are playing Christmas songs too. I cant help but smile when I see friends moaning about Christmas in November!. The truth is I love Christmas, but to me its as much about the run up to Christmas as it is the big day. So what am I getting at!. This is my quick and simple guide to why if you can starting Christmas in November might be the best thing you ever did!. Tip 1 Make a budget and stick to it!. Just do it set an amount, either per person or as a whole. (remember its one day a year lets not bankrupt ourselves over one day!) Tip 2 If you can afford to do it this month do it. Get your gifts ordered online or take a day off or brave it, or on a Saturday and do your Christmas shopping now, taking a list with you!. If you leave it till December the shops are hot busy noisy and people quickly loose patients, and don't even start me on car parks!!!!!. Its all in the shops now so go for it. Tip 3 Don't go over the top with food. Its just a Sunday Roast with a few extra trimmings so you don't need to spend silly amounts on food. Plan it! buy the things you can ahead of time so that one super market trip isn't so manic or expensive. Tip 4 Forget the nuts! Ok so it might not be nuts but if like us you always buy certain foods that you know aren't going to get eaten but you just might need them then stop! Why do we need to buy so much for just one day lets stop!. Tip 5 Get a diary and use it. At least for December. Right it all down the school plays, village carol concert the lot. Schedule in some down time!, its ok to say no sorry we are busy you cant please everyone and you shouldn't have to!. Some people simply aren't as busy as you, they don't know what commitments you have and they probably don't have as much on as you. Just politely say, Thank you that's such a lovely idea but we cant make it I am afraid. Perhaps after Christmas we could get together. Tip 6 Buy or hopefully make your cards well in time, top up with stamps and post them, Get second class stamps save some money you can do it. Well I am well on my way now to Christmas things are going to plan a little slower than id like but be sure to check back next week as update you on some amazing makes. xxxx Hello, how are you all doing, I am after watching a webinar, trying to get myself a little more organized. I saw this pin board in a discount store for just £1.49. I knew when I saw it how easy it would be to jazz up. You need your trusty glue gun, some buttons or flatbacks. Just warm your glue gun up and stick away simple really. You might want to try placing things 1st it depends on how you want it to look. I have stuck an area for my to do list and an area for the doing list and one for the finished items.
A very cheap but hopefully effective make. Hello what a week and we are now in November and with a new business to focus on, teaching classes and a whole host of social activites to focus on if I don't start planning properly I am heading for disaster. So I am starting with a peek at some Christmas magazines. I told myself I wouldn't buy any more this year as I kept last years! but I couldn't help it and I sneaked a few in my shopping basket. I am just looking for inspiration. Weekly planning The only way I am going to be organized is to split my lists into tasks to be done each week. I will share them with you as I go along. This weeks Task. Finish the scarf I started months ago! I am half way through this scarf just a few evenings work and it will be finished. 1 ball of wall for £5 and I have a really lovely scarf. Then I can start on one of the two blankets I need to make. Am I setting myself up to fail, two blankets by Christmas? we will see. This is one I started earlier in the year its very bright white and red, I'm not 100% sure I like it, perhaps when its finished with a decorative edge maybe but I might have to wait till next Christmas! The Christmas Cake. It seams we have a new tradition. Each year to head to my mums to make our Christmas cakes. This year my sisters and sister in law along with the watchful eye of my mum made a grand total of 6 Christmas cakes and this one is mine. Now just to remember the weekly feeding of the cake and then to decorate just before.
Next weeks mission, we need to get the mince meat made. I also need to go craft shopping too, what fun. I hope you have a good week. xxxxx |
