Oh what an odd week one in which I nearly announced I was taking a break. In all honisty I've been feeling very tired and very uninspired. I think the stress of the dog being so unwell ( we still don't know what's wrong with her steroids are looking to be her last hope) lack of sleep plus a few health issues have really knocked me back. I have even had a few days when I haven't crafted at all😞. I have so many unfinished blogs I've yet to complete and so many projects the same way. Last week I did something I hadn't done in a long time some yoga. Wow I had forgotten how good it is to give yourself a moment to breath and stretch. So although I've not been very crafty I have been adding some creativity in a different way. The sun came out and me and my youngest took to the garden and planted some flowers. Blue pots with blue and cream flowers. Now Elle-may loves to be outside and when the warmth is on my face I really enjoy the fresh air. She was a star and insisted on getting rather muddy as she filled the pots with little flowers. A little weeding and the garden is looking much better. Home made bird feederI do like to see the birds and my neighbours do an amazing job of feeding them, but they simply use our garden to fly across from one house to the other so I felt it was time to encourage them in. Oddly both supermarkets i visited only had seeds not a feeder so I took to Pinterest to find a home made option. I am sorry the picture is not the best but basically it's a jam jar with an old wooden spoon tied on with some garden wire then hung and filled with seeds. I was unsure if the birds would use it but less than an hour later a little robin landed on top of the jar and leaned in very quickly and flew away just as quick. Let's hope it works but it didn't cost anything so it was worth a try. Something else I haven't done in a long time is read a book, no not a Kindle down load a real book!,so after a little look around eBay I found this little gem by Jenny Colgan called welcome to Rosie Hopkins Sweet Shop of Dreams. Yes if you know me I do have a sweet tooth so the title attracted me as much as the little snippets of information on sweets and recipes you find as you travel through this book but I have read a few of the author's books. Now this is a charming book of hope and kindness and a dreamy country setting. But what I love is how this book tells two story's. One of modern day and one set during the war. I adore 40's clothing and furniture in fact most things about the 40s interest me. ( yes I like history always have). So this book although not finished yet has been a real treat for me. A moment of dreaminess. If you haven't felt the soft page of a good book in a long time urge you to pick one up and treat yourself to a moment. I will say I am feeling a lot brighter now thankfully, and a delivery of card arrived today, card which I might add cuts on my silhouette machine and thanks to a voucher and free postage i paid just £4 for 100 sheets of card half of which is glitter. This had cheered me up no end and after two failed attempts at making my nephew's card I managed with realitive ease to produce this card. The back ground is glitter which is hard to see.Let's hope he likes it. Enjoy your weekend and thank you for checking back xxxx
