Hello again I do hope your well. I have been doing a little spring cleaning. I will be sharing some of my storage ideas with you shortly but today's blog comes to you as I am tidying up our book case. I have a small wicker basket the hair brush is supposed to live in!. I thought I'd share with you some of the treats I found in the basket. I know some of you will be rolling your eyes at the sight of all these goodies that our children are happy to spend their pocket money on . Most of these are magazine freebies. Is it any wonder when I love magazines that my children naturally follow my love. For my girls it's a once a month treat. The youngest at 6 years old usually picks a magazine based on the free gift!. Usually a popular TV show magazine. Whilst my 11 year old will nearly always pick Girl talk! She has learned the importance of continuity and knows what she likes in a magazine. It's typical of that early innocent teen magazine!. Pop stars like Taylor Swift and little mix as well as introducing them to the world of shopping!. It's fashion and gift page mixes next, smiggle's new look and primark feature clothes jewellery and stationary in a child/ teen way. IT HAS CRAFT PROJECTS tooooo! (Sadly lost on my 11year old) but also talks about friend ships, kindness it's very gentle perfect for this age and comes with most fab free gifts. Yep the lipsticks a rubber! Now my six year olds free gifts are usually a bit hit and miss!. Often plastic phones that soon fall apart but she does everything she can in her magazine's. Every scrap of colouring is done, puzzles, spot the difference and sticker pages so she really gets her money's worth and wow do they charge for them. Usually priced between £3-£5. So for a moment when I too roll my eyes at more plastic, crazy stationary and large magazine bills! I am still utterly greatful for the little treats in this basket because I know how quickly they grow and these things disappear and evolve as my children will do to, needing me less and little bits of plastic less as well.
Happy Tuesday Enjoy the little things. xxxxx
