Hello how are you? Looking forward to the long weekend? Me too. Well in case you want a magazine to keep you busy this weekend let me introduce you to Prima Makes. So after finding the cash machine wasn't working I popped into my local newsagents. Not wanting to buy chocolate to get cash back I decided on a magazine. My first look was at some of the magazines with free dies but to be honest the dies really didn't appeal so when I spotted the lovely front cover on Prima Makes issue 11 I couldn't resist. No not the free gift that didn't make me part with £4.99 I don't really enjoy sewing even though it's a doughnut and my youngest was extremely interested in me making it! ( we will see perhaps I might tackle it!). Because I have purchased these in the past I was encouraged to buy this issue. Now this magazine features sewing projects, knitting and crochet projects, paper craft, baking as well as other crafts. These projects are usually not to taxing. As well as a free gift usually always at the back you find free papers. The papers are always lovely but they are papers so use is limmited. What I really like about these magazines is they do follow the seasons. This issue honisty I was a little disappointed. I like the shopping pages which give a good mix of Craft type supplies such as Stickers, fabric etc just really drawing your attention to new ranges. Also trendy beautifully packaged beauty products as well as items for kids and stationary. As well they have 4 Crochet projects I would actually like to do! So that's a real bonus. The sewing projects don't interest me that's just personal. The problem I have with the this issue is again it features painted jars, Homemade envelopes and bag projects all of which we have seen before. Simply changing a colour isn't that interesting. Whilst I'm not going to share their magazines images with you I can safely say it's very pretty and more like a book than a magazine in some ways. To make sure I get my money's worth I am going to do some of its projects but let's just say I'm not going to rush out to buy the next edition. You get a page in the book to right notes so I am doing so. my first project is going to be a tea cosy!. I'll let you know how I get on. It's been a busy week! I have had a few projects I can't share with you yet but this little bootie is my 1st attempt. We have a new baby in the family so I guess it makes sense to try a few baby items. If you see my posts on Facebook you will know I have been making a Crochet wreath. I need to get a few more supplies before I can finish it but this is it so far. I used 3 colours from Robin Bonny Babe soft blend which is a very affordable at £1.39 a ball. I have loads left so these will be great colours for me to work with, perfect for a baby girl.
I will let you know what I make soon. So that's my weekends craft sorted out. I hope you have something lovely planned. Perhaps it's the perfect time to start a new project or hobby?. Take care xxxx
