For a little while now I have been thinking about making a summer wreath. Sadly I am on a no spend month so buying lots of lovely bright coloured wool to make a Crochet wreath was just not going to happen but I knew I had loads of scraps of felt plus a wire wreath so this would be free to make. You will need a selection of flower dies or just one if you want a different look. You also need a wire wreath ring plus some ribbon or string, hot glue gun and felt. Start by wrapping string or ribbon around your wreath and tie to secure it. This is also a good time to tie some pretty ribbon to allow you to hang your wreath. I used two different shades of bright green felt for my leaf's which I die cut using an xcut leaf shape. Mine are big enough to cover the wreath. If you don't have a leaf die then you could cut yours by hand. I glued my leaves in place with hot glue. Next cut out your flowers in a mix of colours. I used lots of little scraps for mine. Then arrange them on to get an even look before you glue them in place. I really like the layered look on this but I had to add a few buttons!. But the finished result I am not sure about. It's a little flat. I wonder if it would have looked better on a polystyrene wreath ? I am not sure but for now it has a place and I definitely want to try a mixed media wreath soon much more 3D. This has however confirmed my need to make a summer Crochet wreath and thankfully I have some lovely summer flower patterns I just need to buy some coloured wool next month! Thanks for reading I hope you give this project a go. Xxxxx
